How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different after receiving my transfer in that, I was able to boost my livestock rearing job by additional 3goats and one cow. I am getting enough milk supply for my family unlike back in the days that I had to purchase it from my friend. In addition, I was able to acquire a piece of land near our marketplace. I am planning to construct a rental house when I save enough money in the future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well for sending us t transfers directly to my phone. At moment, my life has changed for the better through the transfer because I was allowed to plan on myself.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent $380 of my second transfer on built a new and proper shelter for my family because our previous house was not spacious to accommodate all family members and our properties, In addition, it was about to collapse. I also bought one local dairy cow for $150, l am getting sufficient milk supply for my household consumption. I used the remaining amount to purchase adequate foodstuffs for my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 1300Hrs and I was at home just relaxing in the house. I heard a message come into my phone and when I checked, it was the Mpesa message. I was very very happy as I had been waiting for that money, so I could finally put it into use into projects that I had failed to implement due to financial strain.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now able to build a better and bigger house for my family. I also own livestock now as I was able to purchase one cow.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfers to purchase one cow and to build a better house for my family. I have one child aged one and a half years and I am currently unemployed. My wife is also unemployed and she only takes care of the home. We lived in a small house whose roof is grass thatched. I was very happy that I could finally build a better home for my young family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"Receiving this money means starting a livestock keeping since have wished to have a long term investments. I planning to spend 60,000 shillings purchasing 2 indigenous dairy cows. This will mean a good future for my family. I will be able to meet my family needs such as food. The income from the sale of milk is enough to sustain us because In a month I can make 10,000 shillings. Other than that, I am planning to spend the remaining amount to purchase a second hand business motor taxi. I will save the amount I am earning for our future life. Approximately, in a day I can make 300 shillings from it."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"Morning is my happiest part of the day. It is at this time when I can think of what I am going to do sustain my family needs such as food apart from burning charcoal."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"My biggest hardship is lack of a reliable source of income. This has hindered me from meeting my daily basics such as food. I normal do casual jobs such as charcoal burning. This jobs earns me 200 shillings per day and it is not guaranteed to get customers."
