How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers have enabled the completion of the house. I am very delighted because I have constructed a nice ceiling and plastered the inside walls. Prior to receiving the cash transfers, my house was inhabitable and dusty. The cash transfers have really improved our status in the community. More so, I have been in position to pay all the school fees of my children. Previously, school fees had proved to be a pain in our necks. We had to run around selling food stock to make ends meet.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, to a great extent I like the initiative the GiveDirectly staff undertake through conducting home follow ups to the communities. In addition to this, they always sensitize the communities on how to spend their cash transfers well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I decided to spend most of the second cash transfer to complete the renovation of the house. I spent part of it to pay my children's school fees and buy some clothes.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest different in my daily life is happiness, I'm so happy seeing my children feed well because before GD transfer we couldn't feed on a balanced diet. We could not afford money to buy food on time compared to now. Secondly I'm glad that my unfinished house is in verge of completion as this money enabled me resume its construction since I got stuck due to lack of money. Lastly I managed to acquire some household items especially beddings.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt happiness in my heart and I woke up the whole family and we jubilated upon receiving this money. We thanked GD and God for this amazing offer to help us fight poverty and household shortcomings.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer on paying schools for my children, House completion, Household items and feeding.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will use it to complete the construction of our house. Currently we are occupying it without some parts so this will be a good chance to give our house a nice look. I will also pay for our children's school fees because apparently some of them were sent home for defaulting payments.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because it is usually the time I get to sit with my children and share meals.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of sufficient funds to take care of my household's basic needs like school fees, medical care and proper feeding.
