What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy to be enrolled in this program of Give Directly. We started building a house sometime back but we could not continue due to lack of funds. This money we are about to receive has now given us hope to finish the house, buy beddings,mattress, clothes and food for the whole family. We shall also make sure we invest the other money to be generating income for the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy when I have something to eat with my family for the day. This makes me happy as I know we have strength to do other necessary household activities without worrying about food.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we always face is shortage of food. Since we depend on subsistence farming,we still end up selling most of it to cover day to day expenses such as school fees, groceries and others. Hence, we do not have adequate income to cover those expenses and we sell the maize available.
