How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is diferent in that I was able to acquire some of my personal assets such as farm land and ox plough that will help to cultivate on a large scale. I already have the oxen. This large scale farming will help me sustain my family through feeding them and being able to educate them after I sell some produce. Prior to getting this transfer that has enabled me to get my assets, I had to hire farm land and an ox plough. This made my life a little challenging as meeting my family needs was next to impossible. At times I ended up tilling the land on my own and cultivating on a small piece of land as I could not raise money to hire the ox plough and farm.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by bringing financial help to me that has enabled me to renovate my house and set it to a different level. GiveDirectly has done nothing wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy a set of ox plough. I then got back my farm land that I had given out in exchange for money that I needed to renovate my house since it was at a state of falling then. I also bought ground nut seedlings. I bought cement, sand and aggregate that I used to plaster and cement my house. I bought some household items such as food, two beds and matress. I paid up my children's fees.
