How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
In the past four months, there has not been much difference in my life because most of the transfers within that period were spent on foodstuff and other household needs. This is because my husband who is the primary provider of my family lost his job leaving me with no choice but to step more in terms of provisions unlike before. With the transfers being entirely spent on household needs, it has been tough investing in anything worthwhile in the past four months.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any stable source of income at the moment as I only depend on subsistence farming and sometimes charcoal making for income. With the remaining months that I will be receiving transfers, I wish to start a grocery business so that I can have a stable source of income to support my family even after the project is over.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Even though my husband lost his job and came back home, the transfers from Give Directly have kept my family afloat and made our daily lives bearable. Now that my husband has no stable source of income and only depends on casual jobs within the village, he does not make enough money to cater for our family's needs as the jobs are also mostly unavailable. During such times, the transfers have always ensured that we lack meals neither do my kids fail to pay their school fees in time.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I hope that the business that I am planning to start in the next few months will provide for me financially so that assist my struggling husband to take care of family needs. My wish is to have the business stable enough by the time the transfers come to an so that I don't feel the pinch when I no longer receive them.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different as I do not depend on anyone for financial support. With these transfers, I can now pay labourers to till my farm which leads to an increase in farm produce hence more food for my family and source of income too. My children can also go to school as I am able to pay school fees for them in time. We also afford to buy food meaning that we eat well and also dress well.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I want to buy building materials to plaster my house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I have peace. My children can now stay in school as I can pay their school fees without a strain. When I started receiving these transfers, I started saving and enrolled my children in a private school. Previously, they were in a public school where they would be sent home most of the time but because I earned so little from my casual work then that could only feed us a meal per day.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next few months. I shall have saved the transfers towards buying building materials i.e cement and sand to use in plastering my house which was built in the previous years but could not be plastered because we earned so little from casual work that would not even sustain our large family properly.
