How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I had previous goals. My previous goals have been building a new house. The previous house that I am living in is seriously damage. When I receive my transfer from Givedirectly, I'd used portion of the money to buy enough building materials like zinc, nails, other materials that can almost complete my house. The remaining portion of the money, I divided it to be able to pay the workers that will be building my future house. I decided to save the remaining portion of the money for future used just incase there is emergency.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I believe that GiveDirectly does well by visiting every deserving households in our village or town and determining their eligibility during the enrolment process. I believe that they were fair enough during the process. If there is anything that is not done well by GiveDirectly, I have no idea of such but to just say thanks for the help given me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My family and I have been living in a deplorable house for over long periods of time. I have not been able to renovate the house or build new one because of my financial status. When I receive my recent transfer from Givedirectly, I decided to use it on building materials. I am building a new house because I do not want to live in the old house like before with my family. The remaining portion of the transfer, I am saving it for business purpose because I don't want to go out of cash and live poorly like before.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting outside my house when I received the message and started laughing.I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was like a dream to me. My family and I live in a deplorable house. I've always wanted to renovate our house but couldn't afford the funds. It is very shameful and embarrassing. Thanks to GiveDirectly I am fully prepared to build a new house. My family and I have been eating cassava often than rice because of poverty. Therefore, I am so glad to be a part of this life changing opportunity.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is positive changes. Difficulties in life have made us to go through a lot of suffering. If you don't have money you won't be able to provide for you and your family. I have been living in a thatch house from my youth days till now. It has been worrisome.I am about to build a new house and the roof will be zinc.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
As head of the family and not been able to take full responsibility of your family is very painful. Receiving transfers from GiveDirectly will change our standards of living greatly. I bought two bundles of colourful zinc which cost thirty two thousands Liberian Dollars. I sent two thousand Liberian Dollars to my oldest daughter in Monrovia for her tuitions. I also bought one bag of rice and some other food items.Cassava have been our daily meals due to difficulties in life. I'm so thankful to be part of this program.
