Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very much happy when I received this money. It was very much surprising to me. It was like a dream and this was my first time to get this type of money from any NGO in my life. I'm thinking now about building a house for me and my family. Life is okay now. Unlike before, it was a challenge. I am living in a house that is in a very bad condition. We are currently sleeping on the floor. I want to improve the house condition. GiveDirectly has done great things for us in Liberia more especially we the poor people .
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am improving my house daily. With the Cement and Planks I bought, I was able to improve my house. starting a new business and improving my house for my family has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly. The small business I started will help sustain my family going forward.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my first transfer, I was able to buy four (4) bags of cement, few planks and fully pay my children school fees. I also bought some food for the house. With that, I decided to wait until I receive the rest of my transfer. So, after buying the four bags of cement, I decided to save the rest of the money so that when all of my transfer has been sent, I can tackle everything at once.
