Givedirectly has brought a big change in my life style.I have been living in my Uncle's house for the past years. I couldn't afford to pay my own tuition and rent room for myself. However, Givedirectly has empowered me financially. I was able to purchase two bundles of zinc to start my building process.I also pay my first semester tuition.I strongly believed that I will be in my own house before the end of Givedirectly project in my community.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I want to build my own house for me and my family and use the remaining to educate me and my daughter if I am bless to receive a cash transfer from Givedirectly because the house I am living in is for my uncle Steven Dickson. I am a student who is about 22 years old now and in the 5th grade. Besides, I am also a mother to a three year old child who also needs to be educated. I am not working, but only attending school except my spouse who is running a commercial motorcycle to sustain us. The money he gets is not sufficient to pay me and my daughter's school fees and at the same time that we be able to save for building a house. The motor bike that my spouse is running is not for himself, bit for someone else he's working for which means it can be taken from him at any point in time. If Givedirectly can render me such a help that will enable me build my own house and use the balance for me and my daughter's school fees it will really makes me happy".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"What makes me happy in the past six months was the date I return back to school haven left school for over three years because of my daughter's pregnancy. This happened in the first week of November of this year. I couldn't hold back the tears seeing old friends and new ones even though most of them had gone far off. This makes me very happy".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"Money is the biggest hardship I am currently face with to continue my education and also put my daughter in school. Because of money also I am unable to have a house of my own so that when my daughter grows up she will not have to be dependent on other relatives or people for shelter. Presently, I am not doing anything besides my spouse who is running a commercial motorcycle for someone he reports to everyday. He could loss his job at anytime because motorcycle riding is not a fixed profession such as nursing. If that happens, it will render us more vulnerable to severe poverty. Therefore, any assistance that Givedirectly can give me that will help improve the lives of me and my family will be highly appreciated".
