I don't have any news goals right now I'm still building my house. I just bought my last bundle of zinc and other building materials. I have been working for a very long period just to build my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal still remains the same that is to complete the construction of my house and have my children educated. As you can see, my house has been badly leaking especially during the rainy seasons. Most of the times, I have to traveled about two hours distance inorder to get new thatches to replace the old ones. I have really wanted to have a zinc house but the lack of finance has been a challenge for me as farming is my only source of livelihood. I am happy and greatful that GiveDirectly came to this community this money which has helped me to build the house that I have wanted.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly as an organization working in my community has not done anything wrong that I know of. As for what GiveDirectly is doing well, I can say that when GiveDirectly entered into this community, every house in this town was visited to determine eligible households. In this way, no household that is deserving to be enrolled was left out except where the household chooses not to be part of the program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought zinc and gasoline to saw woods for the construction of my house. The recent transfer that I received my wife and I decided to use part of it to pay our children's school fees and the balance that left I used it to buy two bundles of zinc and six gallons of gasoline. As the remaining transfers came in, we decided my wife and I to buy other building materials such as nails, planks, and additional one bundle of zinc. I was also able to pay the contractors who I hired to build my house from the recent transfer.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
One day while I was cleaning my room, I heard an alert on my phone and decided to check whether it was my transfer alert because I was told in the meeting by GiveDirectly workers that I should keep my phone on anytime after that meeting GiveDirectly was going to send forty thousand three hundred seventy five to my phone for my household. When I saw the same amount that I was told I would receive, I was overwhelmed with happiness. When I broke the news to my wife, she was so happy and started dancing.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly is that, with the transfer, I was able to pay my son's balance school fees. The school's administration no longer put my son out for balance fees. As seen this my house is in deplorable condition and due to my age I am unable now to always travel longer distance to cut thatch to replace the old ones. Now with the zinc, I will not have to cut thatch everytime for my house. I am so so happy for this one time life changing opportunity and I am going to make a better use of it for my household.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used portion of my most recent transfer to pay my son's school fees. My son got promoted to the eighth grade and was frequently put out for me not fully paying his school fees. I want to tell GiveDirectly thank you for providing this amount of money. I was really thinking about how my son's balance school fees going to be paid. I also bought two bundles of zinc to be used later to cover the new house I am constructing.
