What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying two seats at 10,000 KES, a solar lamp at 17,000 KES, two sacks of maize at 8,000 KES, paid 3,000 KES school fee for my child in primary school, paid 4,000 KES labour charge for mud-smearing the walls of my house, then used the rest on food for the house.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I now have a very decent and spacious house, unlike before when I felt a shamed of the condition of my house. My grocery business is doing well hence I no longer work for other people.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by doing exactly as they say without any corruptions involved.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spend the second transfer on buying 30 pieces of iron sheets 20,000 KES,timbers 15,000 KES and murrum 10,000 KES. I also paid workers 4,000 KES and the remaining amount I bought food for the family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life daily life is that I have renovated my house into a three roomed house that fit my family and I.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent 3,000 KES on medical expenses, paid 2,000 KES as school fees (secondary school), bought maize for 1,000 KES, clothes for 500 KES and paid a deposit of 1,000 KES to the market authorities to get a place to construct a shade. The rest was spent on buying food.
What are you planning to spend your upcoming transfer on?
I am planning to start a business and also build a new house as the current one is quite small and old.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on the renovation of my house. Its floor was damaged by floods, and so I am planning to buy sand and cement to plaster it.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is supporting my orphaned grandchildren who are living under my care.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is the fact that getting food around this place is very hard, especially when one doesn't have any meaningful job to do. And so sometimes my family goes hungry due to lack of food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am resting in my compound, having completed my morning activities.
