How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
my life is different because I have a better house as compared the to the one I was living in before. I am also having a source of income I can rely on to feed my family. My children can also stay in school without the fear of being sent home for fee arrears.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly does good by uplifting people from poverty and empowering poor households to be independent. By giving out cash transfers, most people get to achieve their life goals.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on building a new house because the one I formerly had was old, had a leaky roof and too small for my large family of eight members. At night when it rained, we had to wake up and cover the roof with polythene bags. I now have a big spacious house and my family feels so comfortable in it even during rainy seasons. I also bought a dairy cow which in the near future will be providing milk for us and God willing will bear more calves to fill my shed.
