How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I hope to do a clothes business as I save up for construction which I hope to do in January 2024, it will mean alot to move to a safer place and not worry whenever it rains.

The program is perfect I don't see any problem in the processes.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in the garden digging ,I felt so good in my heart ,I didn't even tell the people who were helping in the garden. The first thing was to pay for the land in bulambuli where I and family intend to relocate and stay in the near future once we complete paying it.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
We now have a piece of land, where we shall relocate soon God willing. The school fees of my children has been cleared fully which was hard before I got the cash. .I believe I will have my own food from my garden majorly maize from the piece of land we have acquired with cash, the land is quite big to have a house in and even cultivate part of it for agriculture,this cash has begun my journey of life.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Am planning on buying land in Bulambuli since it's soils are very fertile and do not need fertilisers. Land there goes for about $1250 An acre and supports growth of essential foods including maize and beans. I can then grow food for my family and not starve again.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My children being alive brings me joy. The mere fact that I have not treated my daughter this season due to her pneumonia case has brought me joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Am always worried especially when it rains when water starts coming out of my house and it makes the house cold. My youngest daughter khawama gift has pneumonia and so whenever it starts raining or any rainy season I start to worry alot where mo ey for medication is going to come from.
