I have a new goal of buying building materials that I will use in building a new kitchen. I have a thatched kitchen that leaks whenever it rains.

The biggest difference in my daily life right now is the fact that I was able to pay the school fees for my child. The child had the chance to study harder without the fear of being sent away from school due lack of money to pay school. I am also capable to put food on the table for my family everyday unlike when I would hustle hard to raise just enough to buy one meal a day.

I expect to have bought the building materials and built a new kitchen. I also plan to buy a goat for rearing for the financial security of the family. When faced with financial constraints, I can easily sell them and get money to pay school fees for my child, buy food and any other household requirements or needs.

In the last four months, I have no financial problems as it was the case before. I am able to pay fees and buy food for my family in time without many struggles.

I bought a solar panel and bulbs though I took it inform of a loan hence I use my transfer on paying it back, I have a lightning system in the whole home.

I renovated my house by plastering the floor and also replacing my wooden door with a steel door, my house looks decent and new.

I am planning to buy a goat for rearing, it will multiply I can sell its siblings to get money when I have a financial crisis. It will act as a remembrance of GD.

I have the freedom to make plans well in advance when it comes to the payment of my solar lighting system bills and buying food for the family. Since I have the trust that GD will always send me some cash at the beginning of every month, I am able to make financial projections well in advance and plan what I will buy and how much I will spend on every item that I intend to purchase during that month.

Currently, I have a plan of building a new structure for my two daughters who have always been forced to spend sleepless nights under the leaking roof of their structure. I have always wanted to get them a new structure but then due to financial constraints, that desire has just remained to be a far-fetched dream.

I have been able to cement the interior parts of my house and make major repairs on my house which includes buying a new steel door and windows which basically means that the house is now more secure as well as being more durable because the termites will no longer have the opportunity to eat away the wooden doors.

I will use the other transfers to pay school fees for my son who is currently in his secondary school. I want my son to have the best education because, for me, I believe it is the best that I can offer as a parent.

Apart from having a house that I have always wanted, I have been able to pay school fees for my children in time. Before GD came to my life, I really used to struggled to raise money to pay school fees because I used to depend on casual work. The income from the same was too little to even feed us. In most cases when my children were sent home for school fees, I would have to sacrifice a meal or two to top up the money and pay fees. With the transfers, I have been able to budget well to pay school fees. Even though I have not cleared their balances, am glad the major part is paid. Secondly, I have never gone without food ever since I started receiving the transfers. I used to struggle to make ends meet with casual work. This is because it is inconsistent and gives very little income. Whenever my children were sent home for school fees, I would have to sacrifice one meal so that I can top up to pay school fees. Ever since I started receing the transfers, I have been able to budget well and provide for my family. We have never missed any meal because I have to pay school fees. My children are very healthy and happy.

Since I did not have sufficient income, I was not able to buy building materials to put up a house with a kitchen in it. I have been forced to cook outside and during the rainy seasons, I always have a difficult time cooking because the raise fall anytime and interrupt my cooking. This is the reason why I would wish to have my own kitchen so that I will not be worried with the rains.

The biggest difference since I started receiving these transfers is that I have now plastered my house and fitted steel doors which I bought with the transfers. It has always been my dream to build a permanent house but I was not able to due to my low income from casual work. I managed to put up an iron-roofed house and decided to make it semi-permanent. I have been struggling to raise money to buy cement and sand but it has not been possible. GD has helped me to buy cement and sand which I have since used to plaster my house. I also used part of the transfers to buy steel door which I have fitted in my house. Right now I feel very safe because I have a comfortable house and a unbroken door.

In the next six months, I would wish to use my transfers to buy a cow. I will use the cow as a remembrance of GD and use it as an investment for my family. I believe when it gives birth, I will be able to sell the milk to raise an income to help me sustain my family needs. I can as well sell its offsprings or the cow to raise money for solving other family financial matters.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly is that, I have managed to pay school fees for my daughter who had stayed at home for four days due to fee arrears, I am glad that this time round I did not stay with her at home for more than two weeks.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that , I will have managed to fix a new iron sheet in my kitchen which is currently grass thatched hence leaks during rainny season.

My life is currently different from how it would have been if I never received the transfer in that, I have managed to cement my house so as to prevent dust and also paid school fees for my daughter easily this time round.

My new goal is to fix a steel door since I currently I have a wooden one which has already been destroyed by insects.
