What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
As we speak, my daughter who is in a secondary school was sent home due to lack of school fees. Seeing her idling at home yet I am unable to raise the needed school fees to take her back to school, is something that has broken my heart. Hope God will soon hear our prayers as I intent to settle her school fees arrears using the transfer from Give Directly.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6 months, none of my family member has become sick and this has brought happiness in my life. Leading a healthy life as a family is the best feeling as a mother even though we are struggling financially.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of a sustainable income has made our lives hard. I am only a housewife and my husband is a night guard in a nearby construction company. He earns KES 10,000 a month. This income in unsustainable considering his polygamous nature. I have 8 school going children and my co-wife has 3 all depend on our husband's income. This has turned me into a charcoal burner which is illegal with meager income.
