What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
"I have not used the second transfer received from GiveDirectly. I have not used it because, I want to build a house for myself. I live in this house but it is not my own, it belongs to the family; and as a young man, I can't continue living in my parents' house. I had always wanted to do this and with the assistance from GiveDirectly I must begin with this long held dream'.

"Since I received the transfer, I haven't withdrew the money yet as I am hopeful of receiving my next transfers, since my wife and I have planned to build a house with two bed rooms and a living place. I think with such plan, it will be of proud when such project is completed in order to serve my living and dwelling convenience"
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
"Since I have already received the money and haven't withdrew it yet, it is my hope and aspiration that upon the construction of my house, it will bring about my independence and better living status".
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
"Most often, I go to my farm to do my daily work. On this morning before heading toward my farm, I received an SMS alert from GiveDirectly stating that I have received a Cash Transfer from GiveDirectly in the sum of $35,625LD. I didn't believe the message till I check my Mobile Money account. It was indeed confirmed! It gives me joy especially being the first time handling such amount. I hurriedly informed my older about the transfer and he asked me whether I had plan at the moment to do with the money. I told him not certainly; so he advised that it remains in the phone till I decide on plan. He therefore told me whether building house will be good since now I have wife who is pregnant and have a girl child, I thought it wise to heed to such idea and I told him yes, I embraced the idea. He again reminded me of my first time of receiving such money and so, I should do something which will bring proud that which is sustainable. Till now, I still have it on my SIM, hopping to have all of my transfer concluded before withdrawing to implement those plans".

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am a farmer and being one means so many things. My greatest challenge is getting farming materials to help make the farming process easier.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The pregnancy news of my wife brought me joy and happiness because we have searching for a very long time now. Also me farm did well this year and am happy for that.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
My wife and I has been suffering in life for long now, so I want to go into business to be able to sustain my family. I know going into business will help us a long way.
