How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has tremendously improved in that, I built a permanent house which has given me to live an exciting life. This is because, previously I used to sleep in a dilapidated thatched house that leaked whenever it rained.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to give me the tansfer that enabled me to construct a permanent house. According to me, there is nothing wrong that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to pay a debt of Ugx 450000, bought a door and window at Ugx 250000 and paid the labour that constructed the permanent house Ugx 670000. The balance was spent on food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that my family now has enough food to eat since I received the GD cash and we dress well unlike before I could afford good clothes for my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt very happy and danced in joy because GD has given me chance to move out of my poor state.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy bricks at 810,000ugx, iron sheets at 290,000ugx, clothes at 65,000ugx, a mattress at 115,000ugx,sauce pans at 19,000ugx, two Jerry cans at 10,000, plates at 20,000ugx, food at 181,000ugx and savings worth 190,000ugx.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a blessing to my family.This is because, it will enable me build an iron roof house hence improving on my households' standard of living.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Evening time is my happiest part of the day.This is the time i get to be together with my peers in our village trading centre.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is lack of enough money to establish an iron roof shelter for my household.
