I now have the two heifers,pair of oxen and also some goats which I am currently keeping in my homestead. With the pair of oxen, then I am assured of doing my farming timely unlike before when I would hire and also was using the hoes which were not productive on a bigger acreage. The heifers and the goats will reproduce and I am expecting to educate my children to realize their education goals through them. I was also facing a problem of providing for my family since I lacked money. The little earning from the casual job couldn't fully cater for this. However, ever since I received this transfer, we have never stayed without food in my household.

The coming of GiveDirectly and giving us the money for us to change our own lives was in my opinion what it does well in it's operations. I do not see anything that GiveDirectly does not do well in our region.

I spent my second transfer on purchasing a new bed and a mattress to replace the old ones that I have been using for many years. I also bought some goats to add to my existing goat shed. Apart from these, I also spent a portion of the money to pay for my children's school fees. They are now comfortable in school. Food was also a challenge to me, thus I took the remaining amount to buy foodstuffs that would last my family longer.

I feel empowered with GiveDirectly, I can now provide food for my family without struggling much. I can now plough my farm and expect to get good yield and able to store up to the next harvest. I can now support my children education by paying their school fee and they will no longer have to worry about their education. I would want them to have a good life and be able to become responsible in future.

The moment I received this money, I was very happy in my heart. It was around 11 am when I heard of a message on my phone. I asked my child to check what was the message all about because sometimes I receive notifications from Safaricom, a mobile company operating in Kenya about their offers. He told me that I have received money from GiveDIrectly. I could not hold my joy, I was very delighted to have received the transfer. All of a sudden the whole village was awaken with joy and celebration on receiving the transfers. I could not believe in my eyes that I had received such an amount of money. We were very delighted with my children and I bought a goat to slaughter to celebrate the transfer that I recieved.

My first transfer I spent on buying three cows. I bought two bulls to plough on my farm and one cow to provide milk for my family. Initially, I was using my hands to till and was very cumbersome. I used a lot of energy and it took a lot of days preparing for my farm. The bulls will ease my work on the farm and I will be able to increase my produce. I will also be able to provide milk for my family and the remaining balance I have from the transfer, I will spend on buying goats as well as paying school fees for my children.
