How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is different than it would have been because I am free of debts now, and the household items acquired like a bed, mattress, bedsheets, utensils give my home good ambience. Before, I used to sleep on the floor with very old beddings that were an embarrassment to any adult visitor.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving us money that has uplifted people's livelihood by acquiring livestock, taxi motorcycles, bicycles, and building houses. In addition, it gives good advice that encourages harmony among families. I don't see anything it hasn't done well in my opinion.

I spent my second transfer to buy a bull, food, household items like clothes, a bed, bed sheets, utensils and hospital marternity requirements. I also bought a bicycle.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I am happy because I completed paying for my plot of land. I am now relieved from the owner who had put me on pressure to give him his money yet I was hoping to clear him if the harvest is ready.
In addition to this, I am happy that I was able to buy an ox that will aid in the farming.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
After my husband checking the message notification and later informed me that it was money from GiveDirectly, I felt supper happy that together, we knelt and prayed thanking the staff of GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part my first transfer Ugx 500000 to complete payment of land that together with my husband we had started buying.
I also bought a bull at Ugx 900000.
I paid Ugx 100000 for my child's fees. The balance of my transfer Ugx 200000 will be used to buy a mattress and clothes for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I intend to spend this money for buying oxen. My family has been praying for Givedriectly transfers ,so this is a great chance for us to fulfill our dream of purchasing oxen since we already have the ox-plough. Owning my oxen will enable me carry out earlier cropping hence increase in food production.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moment is in the evening. It's a time I share plans with my spouse on how to take care of our family needs. I also share better ways of maximizing on farming as a main source of earning.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face currently is lack of money . My spouse borrowed money from a friend for buying a peice of land and is a big stressing factor in my family . We have sleepless nights since the owner needs it.
