How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I hope that within the coming year I will satisfy my Family with feeding and fight for hunger
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does everything well especially for Caring the recipients and helping poor people
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My most recent transfer spent on buying land for cultivating (growing crops). Because I don't have land to cultivate while my family lives by subsistence farming, with this I will satisfy the basic needs of my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
We earn our bread by working by cultivating a small piece of land that is in our backyard. I was home with my husband when I received when we heard the SMS notification alert. After finding out it was GD's transfer, I was very happy and I got myself ready and rushed to our commercial center. It was an hour long trip but the whole withdrawal process went smoothly and I was able to buy a cow that very same day. I am thankful to every person that ensured I got a grant.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
We were living a miserable life before receiving the transfer. We would only rely on the income we got from our backyard garden and things always got tougher once it did not rain for days and the harvest was not good. We are now able to eat properly while also thinking planning for something we can do in the future. I always wanted a cow but could not afford one; thanks to GD I was now able to buy a cow.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a cow worth 280 $, I paid a 40 $ debt and bought a piglet for 10 $. I always pray for everyone in GD because owning a cow had always been my dream. Not only will we keep working in our field but we will also have a secondary source of income from the milk and manure we get.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
As a household, we plan to buy a cow of 300$, and a grinding machine(a used one) to start a small business in the community which costs 450$. We can use it to grind maize, cassava, sorghum and so on. We will buy also a pig of 60$ because they are good in reproduction, it can give birth to 5 pigs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
There were other programs which are different from GiveDirectly which gave us solar energy to have light in our houses. The other joy we had is that we received a new born baby boy, he is now one week.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge we have for now is that we are poor. We do not have something which can help us to get to the development. Many times we do farming but we do not get enough yield.
