How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that my family is now healthier than it used to be. Because of the cash transfer we now live in a decent house that is more conducive and welcoming. Long live GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my honest opinion, GiveDirectly is determined in turning a round the lives of the community for better and I am a testimony of the same having been a beneficiary of their gestures. To me, GiveDirectly deserves a pat on the back. Our village has changed for better thanks to the transfer from GiveDirectlly. Nothing went wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer on purchasing an exotic dairy cow which has been producing four to five liters of milk on a daily basis. This has saved me a lot for I have been using the proceeds from the cow to take care of my children's school fees and completed the construction of my house that had stalled.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I'm proud and more peaceful because I now have a decent house unlike the poor conditioned house I had previously.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt so good because this meant the beginning a transformed and improved life to me.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My house was in a bad condition, so I spent the money I received from GiveDirectly on building materials (iron sheets, nails, timber) that I used to construct a new house. Part of the money I spent on plowing my farm where I'm planning to plant sugarcane. I only had two plastic chairs and a few utensils so part of the money I used to buy more.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money to me means a better housing because it will enable me repair my current house which leaks during rainy season. Having a better house will spare me the fear and anxiety that I do encounter during rainy or windy seasons.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evenings because at such moments I have completed my casual works and received my day's wages .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is my inability to provide enough food everyday for my family especially due to the low farm produce this season. This has often made the family miss meals and stay hungry at times.
