How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much better now and I am very proud that very soon I will be marrying my longtime partner. I am proud because the cash transfers have raised up mt self esteem in the community. Prior to receiving the cash transfers, I had no means of acquiring bride price.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has empowered me with money to purchase cows which I will provide for bride price. That is my pride.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I purchased two cows worth UGX 900000 and three goats worth UGX 140000. I bought a pair of bedsheets worth UGX 25000. The balance of UGX 600000 I plan to spend it for the marriage preparations and celebration.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I dress better which has improved my self esteem. Previously, I didn't have money to buy for myself better clothes and my dressed code made me a laughing stock in my community.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the money, I felt very excited. In fact I played music on my radio the whole night celebrating the arrival of the GiveDirectly transfer. Now having been raised by a single mother, poverty has been the order of the day to the extent that I was not able to study.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have loaned Ugx 1000000 of my first transfer to a community member who gave me to cultivate in his acre of land till he pays it back. I also bought livestock worth Ugx 600000 and clothes of Ugx 100000.
