What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
We are planning on purchasing some land where we can relocate and stay away from these areas as they are prone to landslides and water flowing from uphill. Even thou we arr not sure where we are going to relocate to, we shall start the searvh immediately we get the money. We are also planning on buying a cow which we can graze and avail us some milk that we can consume at home and also sell the surplus. Am planning on using about $ 1,111 on land and $ 416 on my cow. Will then use the remaining money to take care of my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was happy when I sold the onions that I harvested from the garden. I got about 20 bags of onions and sold most of them. I got $555 from my entire sales and i was really glad. From this money, we were able to build our small house that we live in now. Even thou it is not enough, it can atleast accommodate us and provide better shelter than the previous one.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been sick with ulcers for almost the last eight years. This is mainly because of hunger that we rarely eat one meal a day here. Also recently got sick with malaria and I was struggling a lot to get well as I did not have enough money to get medication.
