How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, being a widow, I am happy because I built a permanent house that is conducive to stay in. Before, I used to sleep under a grass thatched roof with holes made by rats.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through empowering vulnerable people in the community by giving cash without strings attached that has seen households improve on their living conditions. To me, GiveDirectly should give additional cash transfer to those beneficiaries who were not able to complete their projects.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 377000 for buying iron sheets, timber costed UGX 370000, cement costed UGX 280000, labour for the builders costed UGX 280000 and a metalic door costed UGX 200000. The balance of UGX 125000, I have started a small scale business with it.
