Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first cash transfer I was put in a very great mood as it made me to be happy and l'm so thankful. This money actually means a lot to me and my family as it has helped me to have sufficient food for everyone.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have enough resources interms of food and other basic necessities that is sufficient for everyone..In the past, we were struggling to find food for breakfast, but now with the money, I am able to buy sugar and bread for my kids and even other items needed for breakfast..I feel so grateful that my entire family is happy.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my first cash transfer to procure a few bags of cement that I intend to use in improving the house by plastering it and putting cement on the floor. I then used part of my transfer in buying bags of maize so that I can be sustained throughout the year. Lastly, I bought a few basic necessities such as cooking oil, sugar and soap..The remaining cash was kept to be used for household purposes.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means alot for me. This money will help me buy some fertilizers for the next growing season and again I intended to build a nice house as the one I currently live in is small and grass thatched and it badly leaks during heavy rain making it very uncomfortable to stay in it.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I feel joy when I am able to share a nice meal with my household especially during the evening when everyone else is here.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My house badly leaks during heavy rain making it very uncomfortable to stay in it. And again for me to purchase some fertilizers, it is very difficult as I earn less than $3 per month through casual labour. This makes it very difficult for me to purchase some fertilizers for my garden which consequently leads to consistent hunger
