How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! I had no new goal. My goal has been to change the roof of my house. The roof is tarsh and it leaks during the rainy season. That is so disturbing. We have always wanted to change the roof but unable due to lack of money. I have been volunteering my services in the school in my village. Not on salary. Things have not been going so well. My wife is a business woman. We used profits from her business to support our home. With the assistance of other family members. I was overwhelmed when I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly. My life will will become better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It has changed my life for the best. I have not seen any negative thing from them. They give us their word and stood by it. Now I can boast of living in a better home. The roof of my house is now zinc instead of tarsh that I have lived in all of my life. I am so grateful for this.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used some of my last payment to buy some building materials to add to the ones I already had. I also bought a bag of rice and some food items. I used rest of my money to pay the contractors that will do my project. I am so grateful to God through GiveDirectly for this amazing opportunity.
