We have plans that we would like to accomplish. We would wish to cement the floor of the house that we just built. We used the first transfer and part of the second transfer to build another house. We however were not in a position to cement the floor and hence we decided to smear it with mud. We want to cement the floor because when there is too much rain in our area, water usually oozes out of the ground. Apart from cementing the floor, I also have plans to buy more utensils. The utensils that I have are not enough especially when I have guests in my household. I also wish to buy a cow. We usually buy two cups of milk every day at KES 40. This is costly to us and also our child lacks enough milk for consumption. We can only achieve all these steps by step because we do not have much money. We plan to start with cementing the floor and we plan to use the money that my husband makes as a mason. We will thus no longer have to worry about water oozing out of the floor when it rains.

GiveDirectly did well because they enabled us to build another house that is roofed with iron sheets. This is something that we never thought that we will be able to achieve. Apart from that, the lives of many people in the community were uplifted because they were able to make many developments with the transfers. Most of them built new houses that are roofed with iron sheets while some bought livestock and many more. We are all happy and hence I would urge GiveDirectly to keep up the good work.

We spent most of the money that we got on our second transfer on constructing another kitchen. We decided to construct another kitchen because the one that we had was small, old, and it was grass-thatched. We were not in a position to build one before due to a lack of money. I am a small-scale farmer and I usually sell a few crops such as vegetables. My husband is a mason. The money that we make from our income-generating activities is not enough to make such big developments. Most of it usually goes to the purchase of food. We are therefore so much grateful to GiveDirectly because we didn't know that we will ever live in a house that is roofed with iron sheets.

My life is different now because I have managed to build a decent house for my family, My husband and I don't have a reliable source of income therefore we did not have a choice but to live in a very small house that we could afford then, I am so happy and thankful that I was able to accomplish my dream within a short period, I am grateful that GiveDirectly has lifted my living standard to a better and a higher level in my society.
