What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I plan on prioritizing these funds on achieving food security. I would do this by buying 4 bags of fertilizer for my 2 acres maize field. From this I believe I would be able to have a good harvest of maize enough to last me a year. Additionally, receiving this money would mean that I would be able to finally buy myself livestock, thus, goats and pigs. I plan on rearing these and let them reproduce and multiply so that I am able to sell some of them at a profit in future to be able to sustainably afford fertilizer on my own even if this program is gone elsewhere.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6 months I haven't known or found any form of tangible happiness. I believe if my husband was out that would bring me joy, but for that I need to wait up to next year, that's when he'll be released. For now my lasr hope of happiness comes from when my children are healthy and I am able to find food for them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Ever since the imprisonment of my husband last year, it has not been easy taking care of my 2 children as a single parent. He is serving time in Kasungu prison for poaching in Kasungu game reserve. When he was out here with me he would go and look for casual labour where he would get paid and provide for us as a household with basic needs like food, clothing, soap and lotion. For now that's difficult for me to achieve because I can't find these piece works and even if I do, it's hard to balance time between taking care of these children and working at the same time. As it is I am even failing to go visit him up there in prison because I am unable to find transport fare since the little I get is always directed towards my children's needs.
