Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer from Givedirectly, I was confused and didn't know what to do. I quickly ran to my friend house and started dancing and singing in a loud voice. I am a farmer, I usually plant rice and cash crops for living. The distance from our village to the farm is very far . When we harvest our crops on the farm, there is no easy way to transport them to the market for sales. Some spoil while in route to the market, while we also sell some at a very cheap price. My house roof has been leaking for the past one year. I have been thinking about means to generate money to reroof my house from thacth to zinc. Due to deplorable road conditions,I have been unable to implement my plans due to low income generated from selling the crops. Thanks to Givedirectly for transferring huge money to my mobile money account . I believe that with my transfer, I am going to change my house roof from thacth to zinc.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference this transfer made in my daily life is that I am now empowered financially to change my house roof without any delay in plan. I have developed hope of getting money from somewhere to take care of my children . I am no longer worring about where to generate money to reroof my house. I can now sleep fine. Thanks to Givedirectly for making my dream comes true. I believe that with my transfer, all my worries will soon be over.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am planning to buy 2bundles of 32gage zincs and 15 packs of assorted nails. I have contacted contractors to cut sticks in bush . My children school fees payment has been a challenge for me. I will also used some of the money to settle their school fees payment. Thanks to Givedirectly for the financial empowerment. I believe that with this transfer, my dream to sleep in a comfortable house will soon come to pass.
