Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received this money because my friends received their own money before me. There was some delayed in my transfer, so I thought I was not going get the money. But surprisingly, I received this money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
There is a chance in my life as compared to before. Because I was really stranded and never even thought I could get this money where my friends took their and I didn't see mine earlier.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my money to buy a bundle of zinc and nails for my new house. I bought food and some household items for the house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I was doing business in Monrovia and it broke down because I was doing everything for myself from my business money. I later decided to come back home and hustle for money to start my business again. So, when I receive this money, I will want to start my business.
I dropped out from school since 2005 because I had to traveled to Guinea after the war. When I receive this transfer, I would like to forward my education. I believe that education is the key to success.
What is the happiest part of your day?
There has been nothing much that has happened to me in the last six months to bring joy and happiness to me except that my sister came for my oldest daughter and took her to Monrovia to send her to school.
Things were really hard for me when it comes to sending my children to school. Now that she has taken my oldest daughter to attend school in Monrovia, my burden has reduced. I'm very happy knowing that my daughter is in Monrovia and will be going to school in Monrovia this year.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One of my challenges I'm facing is getting finance. My spouse and I have been living together for some time now but she wants me to marry her after the harvest season this year. Looking at the way it is hard for me to get money, I am going through a lot to raise money for me to do what she wants. Even today, I had to credit money for her to go and visit her sick father in Monrovia.
Presently, I have cut sticks to make coal but there is no money to pay the people who will be hauling the sticks to the location where I will make the coal bed. If I had money, that wouldn't have been a problem. But now, I don't have any money to even pay the first person.
