How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have been able to buy tea leaves from farmers. As a result of this, my monthly income from tea farming has increased. This is because of an increase in the number of kilograms of green tea leaves I now deliver to the factory for processing. This will also increase the bonus I will get from the factory at the end of the year.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new or addition goal at the moment since I want to concentrate on tea farming. I will be leasing tea from farmers which I will then be plucking and deliver to the factory under my name.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have been able to plant some tea cuttings in my nursery bed. I am planning to transplant them in the field by April next year to replace the old ones which its production has started decreasing. This is a long term investment which will not only benefit me but my children also.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my life will have changed in that I will have replaced the old tea plants on my farm with the young ones. When they grow and reach the production level, my monthly income from tea farming will increase. After this, I am planning to start practicing subsistence farming where I will be planting vegetables and supplying them to different hotels in our town.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different in that I have been able to establish my tea farm and improve its production. This has been made possible by the monthly transfers that I receive and the monthly income that I get from tea sales from my farm. My loving standards have undoubtedly been raised and I am a happy man than I was four months a go.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have plans of buying a piece of land. This, I plan to do when I get bonuses from my tea farming business and probably be boosted from my family members. The size of land that I am currently staying in is too small to allow me make other investments. Getting the bonuses from my tea farming shall provide an opportunity for me to be able to buy this land and even if money will not be enough from the tea sales then I will definitely get assistance from my parents who get more income in terms of bonuses than me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life over the last four months is that I have been able to make my monthly merry go round contributions without fail. I never thought I could take part in a merry go round where the contribution is above one thousand shillings. Here I am making a contribution of KES 2000 per month. I am yet to receive my own contributions after making paying all those people who came before me and I have great plans about the money. I intend to improve my tea plantation by increasing the acreage under tea and applying fertilizers to the already existing one. This will definitely bring more income to me in the days to come and enable me make other valuable investments in the long run.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in that I shall have been able to buy a piece of land within my home and be able to improve my tea farming as a whole. After buying a piece of land then I can plan on how to build a new house for myself.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have some tea plantation that I was given by father and since I cannot work on it alone and finish up plucking, then sometimes I get people to help me.Before I started receiving the transfer, it was hard to ask one to help since at the end of it they would need the day's pay but right now, I confidently ask people to help with tea plucking since I have the cash to pay them. This reduces the wastage as tea is plucked on time. I am also able to diversify in terms of farming. I leased some piece of land from a neighbour where I will plant some maize.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to finish putting up a tea nursery. The seedlings from the nursery will in the near future be planted in the idle piece of land. This means increased income in the future for me. I also want to buy a sheep for rearing which will increase the number of my assets.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in mh daily life is that I am able to run and improve my tea buying business with the transfer. I am also able to pay casual laborers who sometimes help me with tea plucking. Before I started receiving the transfer, I sometimes used to do all the work myself since I could not hire anyone for lack of money and this could lead to delayed plucking and leads to low returns.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next few months is to be able to be financially stable and independent. I want to improve my business by buying more tea and leasing more land so that I plant more crops. I want to be an example to my peers in terms of development.
