Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy to have received the transfer and now I can't wait to finish extending my house using the second transfer, I am truly grateful to the organization for this opportunity
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I think the biggest difference is that I now have food which will last me through next farming season unlike if I hadn't received this cash
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my transfer to buy 4 bags of cement, because I wanted to construct a decent pit latrine and bathroom in my compound. For a long time I have been using a makeshift bathroom made of reeds and old cut-up bags maize sacks. I also bought 30 iron sheets because I am extending my house to accommodate visitors. My boys offered to help mould 2500 bricks and burn them so that we save something for the mason who will work on electing the walls. I also bought a blanket and a matress for my daughter because she had an old one. I have bought 5 bags ofmaize which will last me through next farming season. Whatever is left if for small things like salt and sugar as well as emergencies.
