What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first installment we plan to renovate our house , build a kitchen buy beds, matress, food and clothes for all our family. We will also pay for our children school fees and pay for all the materials they need. The second installment we plan to buy a land for $150. we also plan to buy livestocks , we want to buy a goat for $40 and a pig for $40 to give us fertiliser and the balance we plan to save it for the future. Receiving this means coming out of poverty, because we will use it wisely and be able to earn from the land and the livestock we will buy and this will help us provide a good education for our children and our family will have a good standard of living.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Having acces to electricity was very helpful to our family, we no longer live in dark and now our children are able to revise after class , there is nothing joyful than seing my 3 daughters in the evening sitting together reading their books, it gives joy to my heart and gives me hope that they will make it and be successful in their life because they are having an education we didn’t get a chance to have. We have recently received a modern stove which is helping us use less firewoods and the food doesn't take long to be cooked as it was before.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our living condition is not favourable because we have a small house for our big family of 7 , sleeping on the floor with all our children there is no privacy either for us nor our children who have to share the same room with us and among themselves boys and girls. The current season is not favourable for our crops we are not able to harvest because of the lack of rain and lack of fertiliser, we currently don't have any livestock to give us organic fertiliser, we have to work for others daily to be able to afford inorganic fertiliser which we can't get in big quantity as the money we work for is much lesser than the price of the fertiliser on the market.
