There has been a constant flow of money over the past four months from GD which has seen me buy a variety of cereals which I sell to raise income fro the family by making profits. This has enabled lifestyle change for my family as I have been able to put food on the table for my family each and every day, pay school fees for my children and even buy their stationeries, school uniforms and even clothes to put on their backs.

I have a new goal of buying building materials like bricks, poles, iron sheets and cement that I plan to use in building a stall that I can base my business in.

The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I was able to boost my business. I saved and bought more stock which has seen my profit margin grow. This means we have access to cash which we use on our daily provisions and we depend less on relatives and friends for financial support. I was a burden to my relatives and they would just relate my simple greeting to the borrowing of money from them all the time.

In the next six months, I expect that I shall have bought the building materials like the bricks, poles and iron sheets and my stall will be erect and ready for use. I also wish to use the transfers to buy more stock and boost my business further which will, in turn, increase the levels of income generation. With increased income, my family can now afford the best things that life has to offer without much of a struggle to raise it.

Lately, I have been making a lot of profits from my business because I have enough stock and never fails to deliver on a customer's order. These transfers have enabled me to boost my business whenever possible and have extra income to take care of my family needs, hence not digging into my profits whenever any financial need arises in my family. I am also less worried about other things such as school fees payments because my children who are also beneficiaries of GD use their transfers to pay their own school fees.

I have a plan for opening a new business within the centre where I have my current business. I am a farmer and getting farm inputs such as hybrid seeds, pesticides and fertilizer is not quite easy as we have to travel a long distance to buy them. I want to take advantage of this gap and reap from the opportunity of selling these products in our centre so that the surrounding villages will have easy access to them.

My daily life has improved over the past few months because I have been receiving financial support from other members of my family who also receive transfers from GD. Life itself has become easier because one of my children who recently started receiving her transfers uses her money to pay her fees which were a very big challenge to us before. I can now afford to improve my current business and even think of expanding because I don't spend all my profits on family needs.

I hope that I will have raised enough money to open the new business in the next six months so that I can have an extra source of income, and also provide employment for one of my children who is currently jobless and idle.

When I get the money, I do not struggle to pay school fees for my two children who are in secondary school. Back then, I relied on loans which I had to repay with higher interest rates. This was so demanding as I had to struggle and repay the money in time or else the interest kept increasing. My life currently has changed as it has been a while since I took a loan to pay school fees for my children.

My new goal is to sell hybrid cereals which have taken over the market now. I was selling other grains but now I see the demand for selling the hybrid grains has gone high and there is that market gap I want to close. With this, I will capture a larger clientele and this means more profits. These I will be getting directly from the factories which also means that I will spend less on this on the purchase and sell in the village for more money.

As we speak, I have my own food kiosk I constructed using the money I received from GiveDirectly. I used to rent a house where I ran my business but this was too expensive for me to afford to enable me to maximize the profits I used to get. Now, that extra amount I am putting it in the business which has resulted in the business expanding. This has given me more profits in the last four months and this is the biggest difference in my daily life. The fact that my business is making and maximizing its profits.

In the next six months, I will be owning an Agrovet. With this, I will be making more money and more profits. My family will be leading more comfortable. I have identified this market gap that I will close up soon.

My business is doing well because I use all the profits in boosting the business and not paying rent, I have my own gate which gives me peace because nobody encroaches my home when am away and my son has never been sent home for school fees ever since I started receiving this transfer.

Apart from my earlier set goals, I would want to settle the rent balances I have before I finally move to my own kiosk.

The biggest difference in my life now is that I have managed to build my own kiosk because of the transfer. I have always had problems with my landlord concerning leasing rihts so I have been working on having my own kiosk but I have not been able to have one. Now I have my own which gives me peace in the business.

I would want to build a permamnent business premise so that I may avoid theft cases which can interfere with the business.

My new goals are to have a freezer and blender to use in business to help in boost my income.

The difference in my life now is that I have a good latrine and we now eat well.

In the six months, I plan to buy freezer.
