How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I'm hoping to accomplish this coming year to have a very large farm that I will not suffer for food. I think gd for their support towards me and my family. life has been so difficult for me as an old lady. making this farm is a great help for me and my family.

In my opinion, gd has been so good to me and my family. I have not seen any bad things that gd has done to people in my village. gd is the only NGO that is doing well for us the poor people of Liberia. I went to extend my thank to their entire staff.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
What I hope to accomplish in the next year or two is to see my house well furnished and looking beautiful. This will make me have respect amongst my friends in the town and also make me happy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The money GiveDirectly has given me is the best thing that ever happened to me since I was born. They have done so much good for me by giving me cash to solve my problems and to put food on my table. They cannot pick and choose because they love everyone. They have no bad name, they are good people.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have kept my money to buy furniture for my house after plastering. I've decided to buy living room chair set, one mattress along with a bed. The rest of my money will be kept for food and health challenges in the near future. I am using my money this way because I want to have a good place to stay; I also want to be comfortable in my house and sleep well and peaceful at night.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
What I hope to accomplish in the next few years is seeing my house well furnished and descent. I am a person who likes respect but due to lack of money, I am unable to live the descent life I desire. Many thanks to GiveDirectly who has come to help me achieve some of my dreams. My house will be well plastered very soon and it will bring much pride to me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does very well in giving many people physical cash to help themselves; we have been given power to change our lives depending on our needs. Because of GiveDirectly, I wear a happy face everyday. GiveDirectly really does not have anything bad attached to their name. They are good people who love us very much.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I do not have any decent clothes to wear at home or amongst people. Most of my clothes are torn up, thus makes me look funny during our community women's meeting or even at my church. My clothes are so old; they are in the form of rags and for this reason, I decided to use 10 thousand Liberian Dollars to purchase few good clothes for myself (8 pieces of wrapper, 4 blouses, 4 pairs of slippers and one dozenof underwear). I now look like a human being amongst my friends and I feel encouraged and happy attending meetings, as well as services too. I also used 15 thousand Liberian Dollars to purchase food items which includes 2 bags of 25kg rice, one gallon of oil, and assorted seasonings. The rest of my money was kept to be added up from incoming transfers to plaster my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Few years ago, we were relocated by the rubber company that owns the rubber plantation across our street. They started building the house I live currently. The house is not plastered, the roof is old and the floor is not plastered as well. When I get the Cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use the Money to complete my house and use the balance to make a bigger farm and be able to provide for my family and I.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have been through a lot of hard times for a long period since I lost my spouse and my oldest son who was responsible for the upkeep of my household. I had not been able in my strength to make a farm and provide for the family fully, Until now we are all excited about GiveDirectly and the Cash transfer they are about to make in our community, with the hope that I can use it to improve my family current living condition. This news is what has brought joy or happiness in my life over the last six months.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My spouse and my oldest son were the once making farm for my family and supporting us all. Right now, I am an widow, my oldest son has also passed and I don't have strength enough to make farm or create another means to raise money for the up keep of my family. Those are the major challenges I'm currently facing.
