How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My previous planned was to improve the roof of my house and to build additional two bedrooms apartment for myself. But my new plan now is, to allocate a little portions of my second transfer to pay my children school fees. This will butress my brother's efforts because he has been helping to pay my children school fees but he doesn't have the means of helping this year.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What GiveDirectly has done for us is beyond our imagination. GiveDirectly has brought happiness to us in our district. Since GiveDirectly started working with us, I have not heard anything bad about her.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Although I have not used my money yet but I'm planning on paying my children school fees with portions of the money and to buy my building materials to start my house projects soon.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
In a strong tone, I really feel happy! I was dancing and even now I am still happy. I was sick lying down on my porch when I received the message. The sickness left my body right away and I started dancing.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is the joy I feel daily. The money made me happy. Everytime I want to do something, it can just be by mouth but it can't come to reality because I did not have money. But now, I am able to implement things I want to do with my money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought 3 bundles of zine and 5 packs of nails to build my house; I paid people to cut sticks from the bush to build the house. I also bought pepper and vitamins cubes for eating because they are hardly seen in our town.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
It has always been my dream to own a house, but due to financial difficulty, I have not been able to achieve this dream. The tuition of my three children has also been a burden for me and my husband. Receiving this money means that my dream of owning a house will come true and also the tuition of my children will be paid in full.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was unable to pay my children's tuition for the past semester which would have caused them to stay out of school. Few months ago, a member of my family volunteered to help me with my children's school fees, and they made full payment of the tuition. This brought so much joy to me because I would not feel happy seeing my children out of school.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge I am faced with right now is meeting the basic needs of my family. My husband has three wives and has to support three families. What he gives to me for my children and I is not enough to cater to us. I am always obliged to do hard labor jobs to provide food for my three children.
