How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because I have got alot with this transfer. I now own a new mattress, a bed, utensils and above all I sleep in an iron roofed house that I never thought of constructing at my old age. Before, I was sleeping in a one roomed hurt that could leak whenever it rains. I had to renovate it yearly that was difficult for me because the thatch is scarce in our community. I had a smaller matress that was not user friendly and without a bed.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to give me cash that I have spent for construct a permanent house and buy food. Am happy with GiveDirectly for the help, nothing bad on my side.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my send transfer to purchase building materials (10 pieces of iron sheets, Timber, 5 bags of cement and nails) at UGX 615,000 that I used for completing my permanent house. I paid off a debt at UGX 600,000, gave my grandchildren UGX 70,000. I bought utensils, bedings and food at UGX 348,000.
