How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My plan is to build my house. I have started the project already and is nearing completion.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well when it comes to free cash transfer. I am happy to have received money from GiveDirectly without paying anything in return.
At the moment, GiveDirectly had done everything so well and I dont see anything they are not doing well.

My most recent transfer was spent on goods to start my business. The balance of cash was used to buy food for my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was surprised, and at the same time very happy when I received this money.
For me, receiving this money means a lot. Over the time, the bad living conditions of my family has been a problem to me along with affording for my children's education which has been a very difficult thing. But now with what GiveDirectly has done for me, my children have gone back to school and I can afford three meals a day.

My life has imporoved more than it was before. My children are back in school and I now have a land of my own.

I used my first cash transfer to put my children back in school, and I also used part of the money to buy a land.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I sell a small shop market two months ago to clear school fees for my children in the public school. The business was not giving as much profit so I quit. Currently I'm engage in farming and now do contract for people so as to earn more money but these jobs comes once in awhile. If I'm successful to get the cash transfer, I'm going to start a new business and send my children back to school if the cash is sufficient invest some on my farm."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"I'm currently challenge with food and a good home, but with these challenges I'm able to get food to sustain my family daily, I'm happy to have food to eat everyday despite the hardship. This has brought joy and happiness to me in the last six months."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The lack of sufficient food and a good home are my major challenges. This is because my business has collapsed and contract I go around doing is never readly."
