How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I studied catering using these transfers and started catering business too. This business generates income for me which enables me meet my family necessities. Previously, I had to do casual labor and providing a descent life was impossible. I would always survive on a meal or none at all.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by alleviating poverty out of my home. On the other hand, there is nothing bad that it has done.

I spent my second transfer to start up a resturant business. Therefore, I paid rent for the retuarant space at Ugx 480000 and the utensils costed me Ugx 1115000.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Before receiving this transfer, I had a desire to acquire a plot of plot that I would build a commercial to operate a business of selling produce(cassava and milk) to support my self. Getting this money has made it possible for me to acquire a plot of land that I will complete to pay with the second transfer. I am also very positive that, I will build a house in it soon because I got back my piece of after settling the debt I had and I am planning to plant crops for sell, the income I get will be used to buy construction materials.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I became very happy because I had got the money that would enable me settle the debt I had and acquire a plot of land.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1,000,000 of my first transfer to deposit for a plot of land that I am buying, paid off a debt at UGX 500,000 that enabled me repossess my piece of land that had been taken my the money lender and UGX 200,000 I bought construction materials(sand) for my mother.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this many means that I will now marry. If you have a wife , she is able to help with house core activities. The balance of the money will be used to buy land for farming. With more gardens, one is able to produce more harvest which can be sold to increase household income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is morning. It's the time that I move around inspecting my crops, checking them whether they are doing well or not. Besides that it is the time I'm engaged in garden work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is lack of adequate land for farming. Having few gardens means that I cannot engage myself in commercial farming.
