How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been living in a thatch house for so many years. I couldn't afford changing the thatch roof to zinc. I was very excited when Givedirectly sent my transfer. Upon receiving my transfer, I decided to change my thatch roof to zinc. Therefore, I purchased few bundles of zinc and planks to begin the process.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has changed my living conditions. The transfers have made me to change my thatch roof to zinc which I couldn't do few years ago.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My recent transfer was spent on my house. I purchased zinc, planks and assorted nails to re-roof my building.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"If I be lucky to receive cash transfer from Givedirectly, I intend to build a house for my family. Though I already have a house that was built from mud, sticks and tarch, the house I want to build should be built with mud brick and cement so that it can last longer. Even though I cut palm nut and make oil to sell, but the money I get is not enough to build the type of house I dreamed of. Therefore, if Givedirectly can give me any help that will change my life will make me happy".
What is the happiest part of your day?
" What makes me happy in the past six months was when my aunty, Edith Nyemah send me $2,500.00 Liberian dollars as my July 26 gift. This makes me happy because I didn't had any money to buy clothes for my spouse and my daughter. The money she sends me was able to make them have something to wear which makes me feel very happy".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The biggest hardship facing me now is money to build my own house. Even though I already have one of my own, but it was built with mud and stick and is not long lasting. I have since been dreaming to build a mud brick house but I have not been able to do it because of the lack of money. The little money I get from the oil I make only cater to food and house keeps. Any assistance that Givedirectly can render me and my family will be highly appreciated".
