Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment i received my transfer i was very happy. I have been staying in my mother's other house and always wanted to build my own house, and the receipt of the transfer was the answer to my wish. Thank you
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Receiving this transfer has been the biggest difference in my daily life. It has made me enable to build my own house whose construction materials i have already started buying. Thank you so much
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money to buy 25 iron sheets, 3 bags of cement and paid labourers who moulded bricks for a house that i am planning to build. I have also saved some money to pay for the builders. Thank you so much for your support

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy to be one of the beneficiaries of this program. There are many organisations that come with different interventions in our area but none of them will make a household tangible difference like Give Directly. Earning money in this village is hard as almost the whole village relies on farming and sell the surplus to make some money. As you can see my house is not in good shape just like the other villagers, am now thinking of building a better house to accomodate my family and have some storage space for my crops after harvesting. This money will enable us to be having quality sleep and healthy bodies as we shall buy some good beddings, mattress as well as winter clothes for all of us. We are extremely happy and our lives will be forever changed.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am someone who does not go very far from this village. The only form of entertainment are usually football matches which rarely happen hence staying home with my family is always my happiest part of the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am someone who never went far with education and in my family the highest to have ever gone to school and finish a higher class is my brother who dropped out in standard 8. This has made life tough for us as we lack options to earn some money and make our loves better. As a result we end up marrying and bearing children who in turn are now lacking. The biggest hardship in my life has been the lack of opportunity to go far with education as the schools are very far. The situation has not changed since same schools are where my kids are going and I doubt they will ever finish higher than me.
