How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
RE: I am a fisherman but life was very unbearable for me and my family as a fisherman, because i could bearly own a fiting net to fish with, i even had to be using people old and unwanted net to fishing just to survive with my family. Since givedirectly came in this my village and started giving us money, my life has improve beyond imagination. Today as I speak, i now own my personal Canon and as well as nets. My next biggest dreams are to change my house from mat house to zinc house and set up my own little shop to substant me and my family before the end of givedirectly transfer program.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
RE: I grade the givedirectly employees that are in field as people with high integrity. From the registration process, to the sim card registration process to this point of us receiving transfer. Givedirectly employees are the only NGO people i have seen that sacrifice so much just to help people who they do not even know. One thing that really catch me about givedirectly employees is the way they talk to people even when the person was trying to be rude or hash to them, they will still be very kind and sweet. I hope givedirectly continue being the way they are.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
RE: As i previously could not afford to care for my family properly before givedirectly intervention. This my second transfer, i am spending the most of it on my children's education, by paying their school fees and get all their school accessories for this new academy year. I believe my children are my future as a parent, therefore i have to give them the best that I have. Although I do not have enough but as givedirectly is always here to help us i will give my children the best that I can afford.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
It's a high risk going over the sea to fishing just to make sure I find food for my children and send them to school. At times I find it difficult catching fish due to the roughness of the sea and condition of my canoe which allows water to enter it why fishing. If am selected to be a direct beneficiary of Give Directly money transfer, I will buy a new Canoe, pay my children school fees and fix mud house due to its condition. Getting a newer canoe will enable me catch enough fish which I will sell to generate money to sustain my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Seeing my children being promoted to another class brought happiness to me because my struggle of having sleepless night on the sea fishing just to send them to school didn't go in vain.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I'm finding it difficult catching fish due to the roughness of the sea and condition of my canoe which allows water to enter it why fishing. The gradually spoiling of canoe and lack of fishing materials are my major problems right now.
