How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to fix my house because most of the building materials used to build it 10 years ago are old and spoiled. I also want to keep supporting my three children in school until they can graduate and become independent people in the future, I know by that, I will have someone to take care of me in my old age.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by being truthful to us, they do all the things they said to us during our town hall meeting with them, they also help us unconditionally without any strings being attached to it, they are kind and patient during interviews. I haven't seen anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well for now, all is okay by me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy some building materials to start my house project, I also bought some materials for my children schooling and I paid some of their school fees, I bought food also for my family and I saved some of the transfer for future purpose.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive this cash from Givedirectly, I will use some to send my children to school to get them prepare for the future. I believe that if my children are educated they will be able to take care of me when I am old. Furthermore I know that this is a one time opportunity so I will invest into selling dry fish to enable me generate more profit. the profit will be used to buy food and clothes for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months at the end of the academic year, my children were promoted to the next class. This brought me joy and happiness because my ex-wife did not believe that I was able to pay my children's tuition to completion.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest hardship right now is getting food for my children to eat every day. Right now I am a single parent and also a volunteer teacher at the public school. I spend most of my time on the campus and I usually come home late in the evening to prepare food for my family, most days when I come home from work late and tired we go to sleep with out food.
