How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had never thought i would own a house anytime soon. But today we speaking a different story. I would have died of hunger this year as i did not harvest alot of crops but now i have food from the money Give Directly Gave me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does no wrong in my eyes. They enroll people in the best way by not including middle men which might have been a loophole for fraud.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to build a house. I had only bought materials with the first transfer so the second transfwr i mainly used to pay the builder to build the house. I also bought school uniform for my children and also 6 bags of maize for food all these with tje second transfer

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money means a lot to us as a family. The house we are living in belongs to my mother and we live together. We really struggle to make both ends meet as we do not have a stable source of income. We will use the money wisely such that we will be able to buy kitchen utensils, livestocks and enough food to carry us throughout the year. I will also use the money to build my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
We are happy during evening hours. It's the time we share food as a family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge here is food access. We struggle a lot to find money which can be used to buy relish.
