I believe education is the key to make my children's life better thus I have to persist overwhelming needs to make sure that I pay their fee. I majorly depend on casual jobs and subsistence farming to raising an income to support ever-rising pressing family needs. I had seen myself lucky to have my children in school and colleges but raising their fees had been a big struggle for me with the limited resources I have. When I received GiveDirectly transfers, I was able to pay my children school fees. Currently, I am happy and hopeful since GiveDirectly has given me a handy hand to realize my goal.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well in uplifting our lives which were miserable before enrollment. We have been able to provide for our families effectively, purchasing livestock as assets and most importantly, building better iron-roofed houses thus enjoying good shelter. The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to settle all my school fees as at now. This has brought total peace of mind for me and my husband who has been struggling with blood pressure for a long time now. This has brought a lot of happiness in my family. We have done several fund raisers to raise money to pay school fees for our children and even sold a fair share of our properties for our children. I felt so good when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly. That day,my daughter had just called me to request for money for payment of her school fees and I just told her that I never had any money then. The poultry keeping project that I started shall help me a lot in reducing the amount of time that I spend on casual labour and enable me to relax and have a good time with family at home. This is something I have not enjoyed for years and I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for the money we received that has made this happen.
