How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life in the past was a life full of mockery and humiliation unlike the current life. I had a small house and there was no kitchen and this forced me to cook in the same room. Now I managed to build a kitchen which I used not to have before I had no chairs to sit on, and I used to borrow chairs from neighbour for my visitors when they come. This could generate gossip, but now I have bought sofa set and my state of begging is far gone.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has given it's recipients freedom in decision making when it comes to financial expenditure. The organization has become a resource mobilization source. It was confirmed that people have got variety of financial challenges, that they wish to address should they have adequate resources. This was evidently noticed by how they spent their transfer. Giving them mandate in decision making process, wes a very brilliant idea that has not been adopted by many organization. The organization has failed to safeguard the money given to the vulnerable class. They have lost a lot of money in the hands of corrupt trustees and helpers who have taken advantage of their vulnerability to loot from them. Instead, the organization should work hand in hand with the local administrative body to make those who have stolen from the vulnerable pay. Because it will be needless to give money to the poor then fail to recover it when the it is stolen from poor.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on leasing a piece of land for food crop planting, I also bought sofa set, food items and remaining amount I saved for my children's education in the near future. I opted for farming as the first priority because as a family, we don't have a piece of land to farm on and this has resulted to food insecurity in the family Sometimes we go without taking any meal in several occasions. I did not also have a chair of any type and this has generated a lot gossip amongst the community members. I used to borrow plastic chairs from my neighbours and this made me to feel ashamed. At this moment, my sitting room is well furnished with comfortable sitting materials. I also have enough food that could take the family up to harvesting season.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has completely changed because I now own livestock which I never thought I would ever own in my life. Having a separate house to cook means that we no longer have to suffer the effects of smoke produced during cooking.

My husband saw the text first because he had already woken up when the message came. So he came back in the house shouting and dancing saying that God had blessed us.

My happiest part of the day is usually in the afternoon after meals while taking a rest and engaging my husband where we talk our issues out and see how we can make our lives better.

The biggest hardship I have faced in life is being unable to meet medical needs of my children since most of the time they fall sick. And because of lack of finances we are not able to buy complete dose of medicine.
