Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I never thought i would really receive that kind of money,in my whole entire life i have never had a chance to actually handle that amount and receive my heartfelt gratitude for giving me this opportunity.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
All along i was struggling with securing food, but ever since i got enrolled i managed to buy 5 bags of maize which will carry my whole family till next year. We all sleep on a matress comfortably and this is not a small thing i really appreciate everything this organisation is doing thank you for alleviating my porvety.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my first transfer i thought of using it in a best way possible,i already own a house but it is in a bad condition and needs to be renovated,so i used part of the transfer to buy 26 ironsheet which costed me K136,000,I also thought of buying a goat which I'm currently owning. I and my children have a pathetic sleeping place so i did my best to also get a sleeping matress, and two blankets, lastly but not least i also bought 6 bags of maize which we are all using right now.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I amvery excited to receive this money because it will greatly improve my life. I have always wanted to live in an iron sheet roofed house but i couldn't afford because they are very expensive. My house is grass thatched and it would need at 30 ironsheets which would cost around K90 000. I know that what was only a dream will now be a reality. I am very grateful to Give Directly for this money
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning. The reason why the morning is the best time of my day is because that is the time i have the energy after resting all night. This is also the time i plan for my day on what i will be doing in a day
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship which i have faced in my life is lack of enough food. I have 3 children and together we are 5 in total but we always harvest less than 5 bags. My family needs at least 12 bags to take us throughout the year. I have to skip some of the meals so that the food we have can take us more days. Somedays only the children would eat
