What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money will mean alot to me. It will help me do alot of things like buying household assets such as matress, beddings, untensils. I also intend to build a new house and start a business. We sleep on sacks or nets. I have always wanted to be selling second hand clothes but i lacked capital. I rely on causual labour which brings me roughly MK 20000 a month. With such amount, i fail to afford the things i have just said on my own.
What is the happiest part of your day?
For the past 6 months we havent celebrated anything or be joyful. The only time i remember being happy was on 1st January 2021 when we celebrated a new year.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Currently lack of food is major challenge. I did not haverst well previous growing season due to pests infestation. So having enough food is a big challenge, i have to buy maize and relish on a daily basis. With my earnings of about MK 20,000 a month i struggle to be consistent. Sometimes we go to bed on empty stomach.
