What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought a mattress worth 120,000 ugx, and I hired a plot of land at 650,000 ugx per annum. I also spent 110,000 ugx to purchase two big saucepan and Clothes at 20,000 ugx. The balance of the cash transfer I am spending it on feeding the family and buying other basic needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The most important thing givedirectly did so well was to send me the cash transfers that enabled me buy house hold items and change my standard of living. I am very happy for the assistance, however there is nothing I can say that givedirectly has failed to execute well. My only prayer is that givedirectly should continue to support the poor and if possible they should add us more cash transfers.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I am healthy now and happier. I now live in a clean house which was dusty and not conducive. I used to sleep on a rusty mat but when the cash transfers came, I was able to buy beddings and plaster my house.
