How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed greatly because I have managed to acquire some of the equipment that I will use to start work. I am happy about this because soon I will start work compared to before when I was really green about the time my husband and I would raise money to open up this saloon business. With this business, I will be in position to support my husband to raise money and cater for our family needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by giving me lump sum money that has enabled me to do what I had hopped to do for long time but had failed.
On the other hand, there is absolutely nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 1300000 to buy some saloon equipment such as hand and sitting dryer, curtains, rollers, combs, smoother, chemicals and treatment, shampoo, buckets, setting and curling lotions, steaming and leave in treatments, threads, braids, pamrods, chairs, trollys among others that I plan to use to start my saloon business.
I then spent Ugx 80000 to transport the items.
I am saving up the balance that I plan to use to add up with the money that I will get after harvesting my cotton to buy more equipment and later start up the business.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is better because, I live a healthy happy life. Now I can afford food and medical assistance on time. This wasn't the case in the past because we didn't have enough money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved the money, I was overwhelmed with joy till I couldn't sleep any more. I knew I was going to achieve things that we lacked like agricultural land.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have used my first transfer to rent acres of agricultural land and boosting my spouse's business. I also intend to use balance for starting a hair dressing business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Recieving this money means I will be able to start up a salon business so as to generate more money to sustain our family since I acquired hair dressing skills.The balance of the money will be invested in cotton growing because its one of the basic cash crop we grow to raise money for our well-being.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I have finished doing most of all domestic cores because its time I rest my mind.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is that much as we have a small business at the centre but its not enough to sustain all our family needs.In most cases we lack income for family survival.
