How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I own livestock and have boosted the business. In the past, I never made progress with my business because every small proceeds I got rushed to meet family needs yet the capital was very small. But after boosting it, I have started saving my profits and the business is growing steadily. In addition, when the livestock reproduce, they will become an alternative source of income for my family hence ensuring financial stability.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me the cash transfer that I used for buying the the things I lacked. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong that GD has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have used my second transfer to buy a cow, household items like utensils, a mattresses, a bed and clothes. I also boosted my business with part of this transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will invest in to business. I have been doing a produce business in kachubala centre but with little capital. My spouse has since neglected me after getting second wife, so I take care of all my family responsibilities. This has proved difficult because the little savings I get from my business is all spent on providing basic needs to the family. My business is never progressing as expected.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is afternoon. I finish eating lunch and my grand-children play around the compound while mentioning my name nicely. This has always relaxed and made me forget some stressful issues.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is tramour and physcological torture. My spouse abandoned me immediately after getting a second woman. He no longer takes care of essential basic needs I deserve like clothing, feeding, treatment. I feel so lonely since he never even visits my house.
